  'I'll never forgive you! "Said Joe stiffly. From that moment on she paid no attention to Amy at all. No one said anything about this unfortunate event -- not even Mrs. March -- for it was a rule of thumb that there was no use saying anything when Jo was so depressed, and that the wisest thing to do was to wait for some chance incident, or her own forgiving nature, to heal the wound.
