I finished reading a famous book-"the old man and the sea "today".A ship cross the end of the world ans sails to the unknown sea.On the bow of the ship is a banner that is still gorgeous despite the erosion of wind and rain.On the banner,four words like cloud and dragon are dancing and glittering-beyond the limit !" The author Hemingway commented on his work the man and the sea in this way.The material of the novel comes from a real story:an old man fishing alone at sea.He caught a big fish and tied its head and upper body to the side of the boat.But he met a shark. The old man tried his best to fight with the shark .The shark ate all the fish he could eat.As a result,less than half of the big fish was left,but there were still about 800 pounds.Hemingway made a detailed description and depiction on the basis of this story prototype,shaping the image of Grandpa Santiago,an ordinary and respectable worker.He was not subdued by any difficulties and tried his best to fight the handships in life.He said,"a man is not born to be defeated.You can destroyed him as much as you can,but you can't defeated him."This never say die hard spirit through the story of the old man and the sea. Finally,the novel takes a teenager to see the fisherman measuring a large Marlin that is 18 feet long.It once again describes the huge of the fish,which showing the difficulties,the old fisherman has overcome extraordinary.A man can be destroyed,but not defeated.The novel praises the spirit of the old fisherman who is not afraid of difficulties and dangers.We should be like him.We should not be satisfied with the current situation,be positive,do everything unremittingly,meet difficulties and never give up halfway.Only in this way can we achieve achieve greater success and victory.
