And obviously, the writer applies the writing skills of symbolism. But I think he not only compares the dog to a person, but also uses the image of a kind,brave and just dog to satirize the selfish and crule people.

I think the comprehension of the word "wild" wiil deply influence how we think about the whole book. If we regard it as 野性,what apeals Buck is the intrinsic factor, and this means that the writer emphasiazes something one's nature.
I prefer the understanding that "wild" is considered as 荒野. I think what makes Buck stay is the freedom when living in the nature and the aversion to the darkness of human nature.
