Sister Carrie
Dreiser is a novel created by American realist writer, is the sister of "Jane Girl".
It describes the story of Carrie, a rural girl, who came to the big city Chicago to seek happiness. In order to get rid of poverty, she sold her virginity. She lived with a salesman and a hotel manager successively, and then became an actress with her beauty and singing voice.
With Carrie as the representative, the writer profoundly exposed the cruelty of the American capitalist system to the poor people and the corrosiveness of the bourgeois lifestyle to the petty bourgeoisie.
