  The protagonist, Hester Prynne, is a woman who does not yield to fate and whose life is filled with contempt for it. She doubts the rationality of this worldly morality, but at the same time is paradoxically aware of the evil of the soul. The complexity of human nature is evident. 

  Hester, has always resisted her tragic fate, is filled with the desire for a better life and selfless love, which is a rare and valuable spirit. Because of this she became a noble person and was respected by people, thus washing away the shame on her body, and the red letter became a symbol of nobility.
