Hester Prynne is an unfortunate woman who, despite her unparalleled beauty, is married to Roger Chillingworth, an old man with a deformed appearance, and the two are not in the least bit in love. With her husband drifting overseas for long periods of time, she begins a happy relationship with the local priest Dimmesdale, however it doesn't take long for things to come to light. Hester was caught pregnant and found guilty. She is required to stand on a torture table for three hours in public humiliation and wear a red letter A for life as punishment. Faced with the oppressive external environment and heavy mental pressure, she persevered with extraordinary perseverance, never uttering Dimmesdale's name, but choosing to bear the burden in silence by herself.
