Batik painting is made by waxing, drawing, dyeing, dewaxing and rinsing cloth. Because in the process of dyeing, the surface of wax white cloth will have natural cracks, so as to penetrate dye into the white grey cloth and dye it. There are many rough or fine irregular color lines, also called moire. These moire lines are the standard to distinguish real and wax like dyed cloth, because any "moire" included in the design of wax like cloth is regular.
