The "Canglang Pavilion" was originally the pool hall of Sun
Chengyou, the envoy of the Wu army, who was close to Qian Yuangui, the
Guangling King of the Wuyue State in the Five Dynasties. Su Shunqin, a
famous poet in the Song Dynasty, bought the abandoned garden with 40,000
yuan to build a pavilion near the water. He felt that "when the
water is clear, I can wash my feet; when the water is turbid, I can wash
my feet". His title was "Canglang Pavilion", and he
called himself "Canglang Weng". He also wrote "The Story
of Canglang Pavilion". Ouyang Xiu was invited to write a long poem
"Canglang Pavilion", in which he wrote the poem, "A clear
breeze and bright moon are priceless, but unfortunately they only cost
40000 yuan". Since then, the "Canglang Pavilion" has
gained a great reputation.
