Discuss about Laizi's philosophy of Non-action
Modern people are going through so called "spiritual crisis". How do you interpret Laozi's philosophy of Non-action? Compared with Confucious's idea, Laozi offered different solution to society. And they both have a lot of followers till now. Could you discuss about the difference between them? And do they still relevant today? Do they give you any inspirations when faced with challenges?

Ithink Laozi'opinion is close to confucious's.On the surface,it is diong no thing which is opposed to the Confucious's opinion of actively entering the wworld, ceasrlessly striving for self-improvement and making contrubutions. But it is not right. The understanding of Laozi's point is completely deviating from the original starting point of Laozi.

温灵杰Laozi's thought of doing nothing refers to: let things develop freely according to their own necessity, and keep them in a natural state in line with Tao, without interfering with it, and without influencing the natural course of things with action. The basic idea of Taoism is not only to govern without doing anything, but also the basic method of practice. There are twelve references to inaction in the Tao Te Ching. The third chapter says, "If there is no action, there is no cure." There are 68 references to inaction in the South China Classic. "Zhuangzi · Ying Emperor" said that "natural things without tolerance of private Yan." Taoist inaction means that the monarch should not fight with the people, conform to the people, do not act in vain. Du Guangting "Tao Te Jing Zhushu" said: "no reason, its great zai. Do not, not to lead and not to, push and not to, forced and not should, feeling and not moving, firm stagnation and not flow, volume grip and not scattered. That its private ambition is not fair, lust is not wrong, based on reason and meritorious service, because of the material and the body is not cut, meritorious service and name is not there." So, when we are challenged, we can get inspired by the idea of Lao-tzu doing nothing.

李锐"Inaction" thought is not negative, does not want people to do nothing. On the contrary, "inaction" thought is a positive attitude to join the WTO. "Inaction" thought advocates not chasing material desires, not chasing fame and fortune, so "inaction" thought essentially advocates people to give up utilitarian heart and let nature take its course.

李瑶瑶The core of Confucius' thought is "benevolence", while the core of Laozi's thought is "kindness, thrift, and not daring to be the first in the world".Lao Tzu advocated the establishment of human society according to the objective natural attributes of human beings, while Confucius advocated the establishment of human society according to the subjective legal model of human beings.

姚丹阳Not arguing, not really arguing. The essence of Laozi's ruling without doing anything lies in conforming to the law of natural development. That is to say, the idea of non-governance, is to let people not do not conform to the law of natural development of the behavior, but not dispute.

葛阳梓清The central concept of Lao Zi's philosophy is Tao, and his whole philosophical system is developed by Tao presupplanted by him. The metaphysical Tao is not directly accessible to our human senses. Laozi believed that all the ideas of nature, inaction and weakness were the basic characteristics and spirit of the Tao. The idea of doing nothing becomes the central idea of Lao Zi, around which all other important ideas are developed. Laozi's inaction does not mean doing nothing, but means not acting in vain, not acting in disorder, following the objective situation and respecting the laws of nature. Everything has its own law, we can only follow the law, follow the trend of The Times to promote its progress.

李鹏达In my opinion, Laozi's rule of doing nothing is a kind of behavior that conforms to the law of everything in the world. Different from Confucius' pursuit of internal change and promotion of external change, Laozi's thought pursues the unity between man and heaven and earth. Today, his ideas are still powerful, teaching us that there is a reason for everything, and that sometimes there is no hard way.

In the theoretical system of Taoism, "inaction" has always been a kind of "the art of man in the south", that is, the means and methods designed for emperors to control their subjects.Confucious agree with entrying into official positions but Laozi agree with withdrawing from official life. They have different choice,so do we.Everyone has their own lifestyle and dream we must choose what we like and what is right for us.
