强大从沉默寡言开始
A fisherman, a boat, a fish, a sea.Hemingway used four simple elements to present a wonderful story.Santiago is an old and lean old fisherman, he has not been able to harvest for 84 days, only the boy Manolin supplies to survive.
To prove himself, he resolutely decided to go deep sea fishing. However, the curse of misfortune followed.Santiago, exhausted by the tough fish, is forced to face a ferocious shark attack. Finally, after three days and nights of life and death struggle, he returned empty-handed.Hemingway's Santiago, experienced a lot of setbacks and trials, but he did not complain at all;In the face of the unexpected disaster of fishing, he does not rely on his own strong will to tide over the difficultiesEven though his inner waves are turbulent, he eventually calms down, gathers strength, and sets sail again.Nietzsche said: "Who will shock the world, will long deep silence."Silence is not a surrender to fate, but accumulation, is the accumulation of energy, is the arrival of opportunity.A person is really strong, from the beginning of silence.

Never say die, this is the truth the old man told us. I think that in my future learning path, I should not lose confidence because of one or two failures . I should not lose morale because of one or two setbacks. I should sum up the experience and lessons of failures, find out my own shortcomings, correct them in time, and stick to the end until I reach the other side of success.

During the struggle to catch the fish, Santiago holds on to the rope, even though he is cut and bruised by it and he wants to sleep and eat. He holds onto the rope as if his life depends on it. In these scenes of struggle, Hemingway brings to the fore the power and masculinity of a simple man in a simple habitat. He demonstrates how heroism is possible in even the most seemingly mundane circumstances.

The Old Man and the Sea shows how death can invigorate life, how killing and death can bring a man to an understanding of his own mortality and his own power to overcome it. Hemingway indicates that fishing was not merely a business or a sport. Instead, fishing was an expression of humankind in its natural state. Enormous stamina and power arose in the breast of Santiago. The simple fisherman became a classical hero in his epic struggle.
