  It is situated in the southeast of ForbiddICity, the Temple of Heaven was used to be a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors. it also has been one of the most holy places for the whole country from more than five centuries. It is the largest existing one in Beijing among several royal altars to Heaven, Earth, the Sun, the Moon and other deities or symbolic forcesThe Temple of Tiantan was originally constructed in the eighteenth year of Yong Le ,Ming Dynasty, but was given its current name during the reign of Ming Emperor JiaJing ,who built separate complexes for the earth, sun and moon.
