The spirit of Chinese people is a book worth reading.
Legend has it that Mr Koo was first in European newspapers in Latin cursed the g8 coalition, and then in the New York times in English sarcasm americans have no culture, scold americans admire ─ ─ before but only wilde shaw has such treatment. In this way, that so-called bruisman 's life must contain two point: one must be strong, and the other is to be unsserved and to be ignorant of the general sense of the fool.
In his book, Mr. Gu repeatedly mentioned The Chinese civilization, "The religion of good citizenship". He believed that European civilization was barbaric. After the decline of Christianity, the priests were driven out. Due to the lack of proper moral force constraints, the europeans could only rely on armies and even MOBS to maintain their civilization, while their eastern neighbors always had a more perfect moral force, because they believed in "the Nature of Man is good" and "power of goodness". So, Gu suggested that "the people of Europe will find this new moral force in China ─ ─ in the Chinese civilization. The moral force in the Chinese civilization, which can help make militarism unnecessary by the Religion Of good citizenship. ". In fact, at this point, it seems that many eastern thinkers have an innate plot that everyone's morality, self-discipline, sense of honor and selfless dedication and help are the bonds that maintain the harmony of the whole society. Unfortunately, the bond itself is not perfect.
Of course, there's a lot of bias in the view of Gu. But this is a noble bias. In my opinion, no one can discuss a problem from the point of view of all mankind. A great theoretician can't be partial when he discusses his theory. As Bagehot said, "to illustrate a principle, you must exaggerate a lot of things and a lot of things". Only one side can be profound. A doctrine that claims to cover all aspects of the problem is likely to be a banal, boring, uninsightful one, such as sinicized marxism.
While Gu and the era he symbolized are long gone, we are now in a way back to that era, and we still face choices that seem more difficult. We still yearn for beauty and warmth, but they have been destroyed by vulgarity and ugliness.
Gu foresaw some terrible things, but the terrible things that had happened were far beyond his imagination, and I wonder if he would have continued to be optimistic had he known that the body of the man he respected, Zhang zhidong, had been exterminated and marched in public during the cultural revolution.
However, I think that those of us who survive still need to be optimistic. Those of us with mediocre qualifications still believe in hope. At least we can see the beauty and warmth left behind.
Huddled in a corner, he said quietly and slowly, it is nothing but stability and balance. And GRACE and CHARM, like smoke, begin to spread.
