  Reading Diary: Reflecting on My Comprehension Skills

  Today, I want to reflect on my comprehension skills when it comes to reading. I've realized that often, I tend to overanalyze details and lose sight of the bigger picture.

  For instance, while reading a novel recently, I became so caught up in the motivations and psychology of each character that I failed to see the larger story arc. As a result, while I had a deeper understanding of certain characters, the overall theme and significance of the story eluded me.

  This reflection has taught me the importance of balancing local and global comprehension. Not only should I analyze the characters' motives and psychology, but also grasp the broader storyline and its central theme. By doing so, I can better understand the author's intention and delve deeper into the work's essence.

  Moreover, I've realized that an open mind is essential when reading. Too often, my biases or preconceptions cloud my interpretation. To avoid this, I must remind myself to remain open during reading and accepting the author's intentions and viewpoints.
