The spiri

Since the late qing dynasty, China's image has been seriously distorted. Remember your father "wherever you go, whether you are English, German or French, don't forget that you are Chinese. Thomson's teachings to the world with idealistic enthusiasm to show that Chinese culture is the panacea to save the world, so wrote the Chinese spirit.
The most admirable thing is that the old man is knowledgeable, knowledgeable, Chinese and foreign literature and history, readily available, erudite quotes, speaking, amazing. Under the guidance of the old gentleman's talent, appreciating the "Chinese spirit" is really a kind of enjoyment. The spirit of the Chinese people discusses the true spirit of the Chinese people from the aspects of religious belief, Confucianism, family order, husband and wife obligations, customs and languages. Reading the spirit of the Chinese, I rediscovered the spirit of the Chinese people, and I agree with some of the views in the book.
"The Chinese spirit" reminds me of Chen jitong's "my country." both of them lived in an era when China was beset by inhternal and external problems and was plunged into a dark valley. Although because of the limitations of The Times, the articles are extreme and the arguments are narrow-minded, but their knowledge and feelings are enough to make the future generations admire.
Of course, the book also received many negative reviews. To look at the problem dialectically, we should take its essence and discard its dross to read this book. Thomson's article may have many logical problems, but it also provides us with a unique perspective on the Chinese spirit and culture. The remaining traditional feudal ideas of a hundred years ago are by no means fully acceptable to contemporary people. But today's we really can not deny reading the spirit of the Chinese people, a sense of pride and self-confidence will arise spontaneously.
Thomson's career may not be worth mentioning, but the significance of his life story lies in spreading Chinese culture and appealing to translation. Thomson has written extensively throughout his life, often in fluent English, with the aim of helping the west to understand and, through understanding, to respect Chinese culture. I think that's what the Chinese spirit is about. In today's world of diversified development, this book is worth reading for Chinese who are in urgent need of national self-confidence.
