The Last Leaf
This story is about two young painters Johnsy and Sue and an old painter Beherman. Beherman painted for decades, but acheived nothing, and he was eager to paint a masterpiece.He regarded himself as the guardian of Johnsy and sue. Johnsy suffered from pneumonia in November.She thought desperately that when the leaves of the ivy fell out of the windows, it was the end of her life. Knowing this, on an cold raniy night, Beherman drew an ivy leaf that would not fall.The painted leaf gave Johnsy hope to live, but Beherman died of pneumonia unfortunately. This last leaf is also a great masterpiece he left. It means hope of life and the beauty of human nature.
