Charlotte lived in an era when English women were awakening. On the one hand, Women in England were in a deplorable social position. Women, who are surrounded by the halo of "family angels," are actually slaves within marriage. On the other hand, women's struggle for their own rights and interests has also begun. The living situation of women is also closely related to charlotte's own fate. Her father spent all his savings on his son, so she had to rely on herself and was under great pressure to survive. And because she was good at reading and receiving new knowledge, her heart was filled with passion and sensitivity. This makes her feel more pain and resentment towards the miserable living conditions of women than ordinary women.
