In the Chinese nation, the Han people traditionally advocate yellow and red, hate white, and have complex feelings for black.

The Chinese concept of the universe is related to the five elements. The ancient people believed that the sky was round and the place was round. The ground is divided into five parts, east, west, south, north and middle. The corresponding five elements are wood, gold, fire, water and soil. Perhaps because the colors of the land in China are blue, white, red, black and yellow, the five colors have been regarded as positive colors and the other colors as intermediate colors.

The ancients also believed that each of the five great gods ruled. In the east is Emperor Taihao (wood), in the west is Emperor Shaohao (gold), in the north is Emperor Zhuanxu (water), in the south is Emperor Yan (fire), and in the center is Emperor Huang (earth). There are also 28 constellations, the Oriental Canglong Seven Stars (blue), the Western White Tiger Seven Stars (white), the Southern Rosefinch Seven Stars (red), and the Northern Xuanwu Seven Stars (black).
