Tea polyphenols play an important role in fat metabolism. Human cholesterol, triglycerides and other high content, blood vessel inner wall fat deposition, vascular smooth muscle cells after proliferation to form atherosclerotic plaque and other cardiovascular diseases. Tea polyphenols, especially catechins in tea polyphenols, ECG and EGC, and their oxidation products, theaflutin, help to inhibit this plaque hyperplasia, reduce the fibrinogen that forms enhanced blood clotting viscosity, and clear blood clotting, thus inhibiting atherosclerosis.
