Gatsby who represented everything for which I have an unaffected scorn.When I first read this sentence, I couldn't help wondering.If gatsby really represented everything for which Nick have a scorn, why is the book even called the great gatsby？However, when I finished reading the book, I finally had some understanding of the author's words.In such a materialistic age, gatsby still had a pure and ardent love for Daisy and pursued her persistently day after day.The so-called contempt, perhaps an irony, actually expresses Nick's great respect for gatsby's rare humanity.
