————Reading "The Great Gatsby"

I have read the book "The Great Gatsby" when I’m in senior Three.In that time I only hated Daisy’s vanity and felt sad about Gatsby’s death.I know that when Daisy married to Tom Buchanan all things will be changed.When Gatsby saw Daisy again, she was not the innocent girl as before.Though she kept beautiful and pretended to show love to Gatsby.However, even Gatsby who waited her for five years said that

“Her voice is full of money.”

Nevertheless in order to keep Daisy’s perfect image in his heart, he shared his great love with Daisy until the last moment.Maybe that is why Nick thinks he is great.

After reading this book second time,I clear something different.Why the Nick thought a person who haven’t attended school is great?

Almost everyone has disadvantage inevitably.Daisy’s vanity, Tom Buchanan’s conceit,and Jordan Baker always tells lie.This time I comprehend that Nick understood Gatsby through his innocent love to Daisy.After five years, the poor boy, Gatsby, became famous and bought a huge mansion on the other side of the Daisy House in Long Island.In many bustling evenings, Gatsby kept away the noisy and see the green light in Daisy’s house quietly.I read and saw how a lonely man constantly decorates his fantasy and uses it to fight against reality.In many young man’s mind,Daisy is just a beautiful and elegant girl, but in Gatsby’s heart Daisy became his dream.He dreamt her for five years and although Daisy itself is not perfect, he constantly adds beauties to his mind.Slowly,Daisy became perfect and became the pursuit of life.

I come to doubt that if Gatsby still love Daisy after their separation.Not seeing Daisy for a long time,I think in Gatsby’s heart Daisy’s image has become foggy.Only the green light in Daisy’s house supports him through the mud.And afterwards we see how staunch Gatsby are.On the battlefield where the artillery fires, the death is always echoing around, but Gatsby escape from the dead.He got promotion in a foreign country and become a rich man in the East Coast.We saw the great power of belief, Gatsby kept fighting against reality.As a result when the green light is approached, it also means the end of Gatsby’s belief.I believe in countless feasts, Gatsby has doubted his effort, and Daisy’s change has strengthened his doubt.In the end Gatsby just wanted to draw a full stop for his belief instead of the love to Daisy.Because Nick also hoped that

I am more willing to believe that Nick admire Gatsby of his effort, his effort to make dreams become true.I think what the author wants to convey is not only the true love but the dream and effort.Everyone has a green light in his heart, and this motivates them to keep moving forward.

"We continue to work hard, move against the water, and continue to retreat until we return to the past.”That’s what Gatsby engraved on the roof of his study.I wish that everyone can keep trying hard and reach the green light which lies on the other side.
