Book review on THE SPIRIT OF THE CHINESE PEOPLE
When introduce China to foreign people, what will you say? Which space do you want them to know? Maybe foreigners can accept Chinese food, Chinese art, Chinese history and so on. However, do they understand what the spirit of the Chinese people is? I think many people, even include Chinese, don’t know a lot about that.
Mr. Gu is a great person, he is accomplished in Chinese and English. He thinks that “The man and woman, - the type of human beings-which a civilization produces, it is this which shows the essence, the personality, so to speak, the soul of that civilization.” Thus, he wrote this book.
In this book, I saw the great image of Chinese people that have sympathy, wisdom and faith. Mr. Gu showed us an active China. He made others know that China has its own pride and it is very strong.
What I learned after reading this book? As far as I’m concerned, just I love my country more. I’m proud of living in China.
