Set in the background of the Netherlands bourgeois revolution and "the Tulip Bubble", this novel tells a story of an enthusiastic tulip gardener, who is kind and learned.

Framed by a person who envies his gardening skills, he is thrown into prison. There he meets Rosa, the prison guard's beautiful daughter, who at last rescues him.

作者简介

亚历山大·仲马，称大仲马，法国19世纪浪漫主义作家。大仲马各种著作达300卷之多，主要为小说和剧作。主要作品包括《三个火枪手》、《二十年后》、《基督山伯爵》等。大仲马的儿子小仲马也是法国著名的作家，善于写戏剧，其中《茶花女》等为代表作。大都以真实的历史作背景，情节曲折生动，往往出人意料，有历史惊险小说之称。结构清晰明朗，语言生动有力，对话灵活机智等构成了大仲马小说的特色。

Alexandre Dumas (24 July 1802 —5 December 1870) was a French writer, best known for his historical novels of high adventure which have made him one of the most widely read French authors in the world. Many of his novels, including The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, and The Vicomte de Bragelonne were originally serialized.
