People thought that the Great Gatsby had a cruel ending. In fact, Fitzgerald is likely to cover up a crueler truth that he doesn't want to expose with this dramatic and cruel ending. It's not pure love, it's revenge for love and hate (for Daisy). At the same time, it is a continuation of the war between men. Gatsby had to beat Tom more than just daisy. Therefore, the beginning of the story may be a cold revenge for love, hate and pain. In the end, the hero is a warm tragic hero, a fool who died for the false love. The whole world is sorry for him.
This is the real tragedy.

He was so mysterious that so many people were very curious for him, who suspected he was a murder or he was a German spy. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life.” Nick said. Gatsby was not addicted to extravagant life, but he had a strong desire that his love—Daisy. He was crazy for Daisy and the past years. When Nick said :“ you can’t repeat the past.”he stubbornly said:” Can’t repeat the past? Why? Of course you can! I’m going to fix everything just the way it was before. She’ ll see.” In his world, everything was for the green light across the coast. -
刑司1904黄飞露After reading the whole book, I am really interested in how the western Daisy becomes the eastern Daisy. She has the youth and mystery that wealth imprisons and preserves. Daisy, gleaming like silver, is safe and proud above the hot struggles of the poor. In my opinion, the reason why Daisy loved Gatsby is that Gatsby is from another world she have never known. She didn’t love Gatsby’s poor soul. However, It’s the freshness he can bring. Maybe she had loved Gatsby sometimes for his deeper charming characters like Gatsby loves her. Anyhow, she chose her artificial world which was redolent of orchids and pleasant, cheerful snobbery and orchestras and gave up the love between them. She had struggled before her wedding with Tom. Daisy tore the pearl necklace off. She had drowned herself in the cold water to calm down and forget every happiness and deep emotion between her and Gatsby. Finally she pick up the pearl necklace and make the experience die away. She sought love from Tom. On the contrary, Tom found another girl during their honey month. The world is likely to crash down.When Neck first came to their house, she said she wanted her died girl to become a beautiful fool. And I think she also want herself to act as a beautiful fool. Dose she pity? I had have mercy on her, but when she did nothing after the car accident that she made, I know she deserves nothing.

Some sentences in The Great Gatsby touched me deeply . There is a description about what Jordan saw between Daisy and Gatsby : “ The officer looked at Daisy while she was speaking , in a way that every young girl wants to be looked at sometime, and because it seemed romantic to me I have remembered the incident ever since. “ It’s a normal passage of a girl’s imagination, but a honest one . Very simple words show the deep love between them at that time. The author didn’t directly use some romantic and fantastic expressions, but let Jordan stand aside silently to say what she had seen. What a thoughtful way to involved all the readers as if every one of them is Jordan. And as we all know, a sentence form the third people is trustworthy. The imaginative and moved scene shines in my mind .
And there is another sentence from Daisy. When she came to Gatsby’s splendid party, played and laughed. She said:”There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy and the tired.” Everything is from nothing to nothing. It seems the emotion that people at that time have. It’s a luxury and wonderful time with polluted, complex and lonely society. Gatsby, a village boy , grew up with nothing, built anything by his hands and then had a castle with an empty soul.
