The image analysis of Santiago
Hemingway's Santiago is a true portrayal of the old man and the tough man. He used his image of Santiago to teach the world a life philosophy lesson that "one can be destroyed, but not defeated". From the perspective of the structure of the whole novel, the image of Santiago was sad and ended in tragedy. But it was precisely because of this sense of tragedy that the hero's inner great character was revealed. The analysis of Santiago's rich and distinctive characters was not only of great social significance at that time, but also of extraordinary significance in the contemporary era.
