Abdominal aortic aneurysm disease is an extremely common problem in mature Americans. Incidence of abdominal aortic aneurysm disease is about 6% of men and about 1.5% of women over age 55 in this country. In terms of its overall significance it's in the top 15 leading causes of the death of mature adults.
