8/3 课后讨论问题 - the Gettier problem

Think about one of the things you have learned in your physics, chemistry, biology, or other science lessons – for example, the theory of natural selection – has Gettier’s thought experiment made you doubt their truth?

In my opinion, math is not easily affected by Gettier’s thoughts because of its rigorous logic. For example, the study of Euclid geometry is based on five geometric axioms, and every theorem or statement is established based on the axioms. Moreover, these five axioms constitute a sufficient and necessary condition for every statement (or knowledge) in Euclid geometry. In that case, Gettier’s counterargument cannot happen, since the counterargument’s example Q(The man who will get the job has ten coins in his pocket) is an extension entailed from P(Jones is the man who will get the job, and Jones has ten coins in his pockets), while P constitutes a sufficient but NOT necessary condition for Q. Therefore, you cannot find any kind of “Q” in Euclid geometry, so Gettier’s counterargument of the “JTB” statement is unlikely to be found in Euclid geometry, or even in the subject of math.
