My opinion of Helen Burns
itsipino
The character of Helen Burns is characterized by meekness, intelligence and incomparable tolerance.Helen in the novel is a devout Christian. She seems to have a submissive quality in her body. She always suffers injustice silently, which is diametrically opposite to Jane Eyre's strong sense of resistance.
The tragic fate of Helen Burns in the book reflects the cruel educational system of the so-called charity schools at the time, which stifled talents and trampled on personal dignity. In her life at a terribly mean boarding school, Jane Eyre meets a lovely friend: Helen Burns. Helen's docile, intelligent and incomparably tolerant character has always influenced Jane Eyre, so that she no longer succumbs to complaints in the face of various difficulties in the future, and understands love and loyalty.
