The lecture will talk about surgery for emphysema. Emphysema is one of the most common diseases. It is a complicated disease to operate on because the patients who have it are often very fragile. In fact, lung volume reduction surgery is only allowed to be done at about 30 centers in the whole country. And -- but despite that, if the patients are well selected and the people caring for the patients are experienced, the results are outstanding.
