In 1872, in the city of London, many prominent gentlemen gathered at the Reform Club. One of these gentlemen was Phileas Fogg.

作者简介

儒勒·凡尔纳（1828～1905)是法国作家，被誉为“科幻小说之父”。他生于法国的南特，少年时强烈热爱航海和探险，所以他后来有不少作品都与这类主题有关。儒勒·凡尔纳的科幻小说总题为“在已知和未知的世界漫游”，其中较著名作品还有《海底两万里》、《格兰特船长的女儿》、《地心游记》、《从地球到月球》，等等。

Jules Gabriel Verne ( 8 February 1828 – 24 March 1905) was a French novelist, poet, and playwright. His collaboration with the publisher Pierre-Jules Hetzel led to the creation of the Voyages extraordinaires, a widely popular series of scrupulously researched adventure novels including Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873).
